Keep Stuff Dry On Any Hike With Earth Pak Waterproof Dry Bag!

Updated: Jun 7, 2023

Costa Rica is known for its' vast rainforests, and I wanted to be well prepared for our hike to some famous waterfalls and other natural wonders. Since my Nikon, water, and snacks are essential for me on any hike, I purchased an Earth Pak Waterproof Dry Bag to keep my stuff dry. There are different size options and strap options (single shoulder strap and backpack straps) offered. I opted for the 30L size bag which is the smallest size that offers the backpack straps. Having something handsfree and lightweight for the 2 plus mile hikes was a priority.

First Impression:

I received the Earth Pak Waterproof Dry Bag along with a Waterproof Phone Case that you can hang around your neck. A verified customer posted a video using the Waterproof Phone Case underwater and the underwater video footage using the phone case was pretty clear...I was sold! The phone case came in handy throughout the entire trip. I was able to carry it to the beach, the pool, and even to dinner if I didn't feel like carrying much of anything. The clear protective covering still allowed me to use all of my phone features including the camera. Although I haven't tried the phone case underwater yet, the splashes of water from the pool and the ocean wasn't an issue.

Some Items I Was Able to Carry

Pros & Cons:

The dry bag itself was just what I had hoped for. I was able to fit a number of items into the bag including my Nikon, extender, travel dry towels, a poncho, snacks, cooling towels, a change of clothes, sandals, and a neck fan. There was plenty of room to carry stuff and the backpack was still lightweight. The dry bag also has a strap clip across the chest for more security and comfort. It's always good to purchase a quick dry swimsuit, dry towel, or remove your wet clothes promptly in addition to prevent mildew.

Recommendation:

I'd recommend purchasing an Earth Pak Waterproof Dry Bag for your next adventure! It's lightweight, compact, and was a reasonable price for the quality. If you are looking for a dry bag with pockets and compartments, my particular selection is not right for you. If you are looking for something simple and basic, this may be just right for you. Make your Fridays easier!
