Imagine Heaven Book

A New York Times Bestseller!

Are you the type of traveler that carries a book? I typically am not! I love to spend my time taking in everything around me while vacationing and a book makes me feel like I'm taking away from that. My most recent read, Imagine Heaven by John Burke, was quite the exception. It was hard for me to put this book down and it was a travel necessity for my last trip!

This book was a gift from Melissa, one of my clients and Book Club sisters. We've read some great books in our Book Club, but this one has stayed on my mind more than the others. This isn't a book review, nor will I share any details of the book. This is simply a push for others curious about heaven to read this book. I also ended up gifting this book to my third mom for Mother's Day...she's since raved about this book as well!

Before reading Imagine Heaven, I thought heaven was a place where Jesus met you at the heavenly gates, your life in its entirety would flash up for review, and you would be given your fate. I imagined the transition from death to the afterlife as instantaneous and as a solo experience with just you and Jesus face-to-face. And if the fate was heaven, then you'd meet God, have a reunion with past loved ones (and pets I'd always hoped!), and be welcomed into your new mansion in heaven. That's right...if you don't get your dream mansion here on earth...God has one waiting for you in heaven!

This book was life altering for me. I'm an engineer, very logical, and love data! The author of this book uses real stories and generates data to help you learn from people who have had near-death experiences. This book left me feeling more comfortable about the notion of death and its purpose. It

made me appreciate life even more and I view nature on earth in a whole new manor. It also filled me in on the fine details of heaven that I never considered or even imagined. To simply put it, it created a brand-new vision of heaven for me. And for all of these reasons, the Imagine Heaven book has made my list for highly recommended "Travel Accessories." If you are the traveler who carries a book around, consider this one.

Recommendation: I highly recommend this book for anyone curious about heaven, who struggles with understanding why "God let's bad things happen," and for those that need comfort in coping with death.

Fun Fact: Did you know that 1 in 10 people have had a near-death experience? I have never had a near-death experience, nor have I had anyone share a near-death experience with me. Now, however, I do wonder if I asked my family and friends would there be an interesting story or two to be heard.
